Two paths, one shared passion

Marco and Viviana come from different places and different worlds, but at some point they both chose to leave their roots behind. Not to forget where they came from, but because they fell in love with these hills, their rhythm of life and, above all, the incredible potential of this land. That is how Castiglione Tinella and Rocca delle Langhe became home. Marco, an agronomist and winemaker, found in the vineyard the perfect place to combine knowledge, instinct and curiosity. Viviana, a graphic designer and art director, brought creativity, visual identity and a different way of telling the story of wine. Two different perspectives that naturally came together: he expresses the land through wine, while she gives each bottle an identity that reflects what is inside. Lonati Winery grew from the desire to explore and express this territory through their own vision, without simply following a path already traced by others. Moscato, Barbera, Nebbiolo and the other local grapes are something to understand and respect, but also to interpret and experiment with. Tradition matters, but so does the freedom to follow their instincts, try something different and discover, vintage after vintage, just how much these grapes and this land can offer. Starting from scratch was never the easiest choice — and it still isn't. It means constantly learning, making mistakes, starting again, getting their hands dirty and somehow always having one more idea that makes the working day a little longer than expected. But then come the rewards. A vineyard growing exactly as they had hoped. An experiment in the cellar finally becoming the wine they had imagined. A new bottle taking shape. Someone tasting one of their wines and understanding the idea behind it. Seeing the results of their work makes every effort worthwhile and, more importantly, keeps their curiosity alive and gives them the energy to keep creating. Today, Lonati Winery is exactly that: two people, around 12 hectares across the Langhe and Monferrato, and a project that never stops evolving. The goal is not simply to make wine the way it has always been made, but to understand this land more deeply and explore its full potential — in their own way. With curiosity, a little stubbornness, and an endless desire to see what comes next.
